Attached Cushion removal rate is 100 to 400 sq. yards per hour, depending on the degree of bonding and the condition of the carpet being removed. Resilient removal, floor tile and sheet goods, removal rate is 1,000 to 4,000 sq. feet per hour, depending on the degree of bond to the floor and the condition of the resilient floor covering. These removal rates are as good and in some cases better than floor removal equipment costing two to three times more than the Piranha 160 (The Piranha is less than $20,000). |

How can we bring a machine of this caliber and quality to the market at a price |
||
| 1. The Taylor Tools sales philosophy is to “bring all our products to market at the lowest possible price, with a fair profit margin for Taylor Tools and our Distributors”. Others tend to base the price on an evaluation of what the product is worth or dollars saved by the customer. 2. Taylor Tools produces more floor removal tools and equipment than any other manufacturer. You will even find that some of the largest manufactures in this industry have their floor removal tools and equipment made for them by Taylor Tools. This is in large part due to the fact that Taylor Tools is a well-integrated fabrication shop, which produces their products right in Denver, Colorado. 3. Taylor Tools is not a one-product company. We have a complete line of floor removal and installation tools and equipment that we have been supplying to the industry for over 30 years. 4. Product design, while very functional emphasizes simplicity and ease-of-maintenance. The Piranha is built around a modified Gravely 2 wheel tractor. The Gravely tractor has been proven to be one of the most reliable transmissions over the last 35 years, used all over the world for such tough jobs as moving box cars on the railroad, hauling logs out of remote locations in the forest, front load bucket tractors and industrial lawn mowers. Taylor Tools extensively modified the transmission to enhance the performance required for floor removal applications. This modified transmission is now the strongest transmission in-service for our floor removal products offering. You will also find that by not having hydraulics to power the equipment you end up with a quieter, more reliable, easier and cheaper to maintain machine compared to hydraulic powered machines. 5. The Piranha is not hydraulically powered! The manufacturing cost is much less without hydraulic motors, filters, and control valves. 6. There are over 500 approved service centers across the United States, so wherever you are, there is a service center for your Piranha near by. |
Safety is the number one priority for Taylor Tools! The Piranha design is loaded with safety features. You will find that there are several safety interlocks to protect the operator and other people on the job. If the operator fails to properly control the machine these interlocks will automatically shut down the machine. A lower center-of-gravity makes the Piranha less likely to tip over. This comes into play when transporting, entering buildings, and removing floors with uneven surfaces. The walk-behind design is done for safety reasons. A floor stripper will stop abruptly if the operator passes over an expansion joint at a perpendicular angle (like running into a brick wall). Even though the speed of floor removal on this type of equipment is not comparable to the speed of a car it is better to have both feet on the ground when operating powered equipment with the potential of abrupt stops. Propane power was chosen over gas power for emissions reasons. The Piranha also comes with an exhaust scrubber that eliminates over 99% of the carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons. Tiller-arm steering is a major benefit when compared to hydraulic steering. Blades: Blades are Taylor Tools specialty! Taylor Tools has developed an ultra strong, ultra durable high carbon steel called Dynalloy. Dynalloy gives our blades the performance of chrome moly alloys without the high price and the brittleness. You will find that Taylor Tools Durablades will not break as easy when you hit obstacles, and they will stay sharp longer on those large tough jobs. Durablades come in many different widths, and thickness, (2” to 16” wide, .062 to .125 thick). If you don’t see the design of blade that you desire ask us to make a custom blade for you. |
